One-of-a-Kind German Mirror Cut Polygon Peridot Ring
Crafted in 14K white and yellow gold, this Croft & Stern original design features a 4.28ct German mirror-cut polygon peridot, bezel set. Accenting the peridot are 6=0.11ctw earth-mined round brilliant cut diamonds — five prong set and one bezel set. This ring is made in finger size 7¾ and finished in a bright polish.
Collector’s Note: German Mirror-Cut Gem
A German mirror-cut gem is precision taken to an art form. Created in the gem-cutting region around Idar-Oberstein, this cut uses highly polished flat facets arranged with exacting geometry so the interior of the gem acts like a hall of mirrors—reflecting light cleanly and deliberately rather than scattering it. Instead of chasing carat weight or commercial symmetry, the cutter focuses on optical architecture: crisp reflections, sharp facet junctions, and a flawless polish that behaves like glass and chrome combined. Each gem is finished entirely by hand, and only a handful of master cutters in Germany are skilled enough to execute the technique to true mirror perfection. For collectors, mirror-cut gems represent the pinnacle of lapidary control—where precision, discipline, and light are the medium. These are gems for people who appreciate craftsmanship over mass production.
